Co-op Experience
A hallmark of the Northeastern education is its co-op program, which require students to participate in up to three 6-month long full time work experiences. Northeastern is very specific on what it considers a co-op, ensuring that students are treated as full time engineers and given tasks which advance their classroom experience. In order to continue working on the Baja car, I completed three work experiences at local companies in the medical and consumer products industries.

Co-op #3 |
As an engineer at Digital Lumens, I designed tests on various product features and used this experience to lead the design of the 6th generation fixture housing and ensure functionality of all product features during the prototyping phase. I worked closely with all departments in a small, fast paced, start-up environment on order to conduct research and build tests in a downtown office with limited space to model the performance of our fixtures in warehouses and inform changes to both new and current systems.
Co-op #2 |
At Analogic, I supported production and R&D efforts on both CT imaging and DNA replication systems. In addition to supporting design efforts through SolidWorks, I initiated and analyzed life cycle tests for current production and prototype components mostly involving thermal control loop performance and thermal stresses in electrical components.
Co-op #1 |
▫While at Accuboost, I provided manufacturing and testing support for a novel breast cancer radiation therapy system. I also provided design support for and testing of the second generation system. I gained experience using SolidWorks, and exposure to all stages of product life cycle from designing to prototyping, testing, and producing.
