Fabrication Experience
The 2017 Northeastern Baja vehicle was nearly completely fabricated in house. Aside from the engine, shocks, and front brake calipers, every major component was student designed and fabricated in house or by a local sponsor. Our in-house capability is limited (one 2.5 axis CNC, two manual mills, two manual lathes, and a TIG welder) which meant that to push our designs and material selection capabilities we had to get creative to manufacture some of our more complex components. After five years and four cars completed, I have become proficient with all of our equipment and processes. Below are a few brief examples.
